Terms of service and sale
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Who we are
Contribase is provided by Source Commons Inc., Montréal, Québec, Canada (corporation number 1807187-0). Contact: hello@contribase.com.
These terms apply when you create an account, use Contribase or subscribe to a paid plan. By doing so, you accept them on behalf of your organization.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep that mailbox safe: whoever can read it can sign in.
You confirm that you may act for your organization and that what you enter is accurate.
Your contributors' data
You add your contributors and decide how their details are used. You confirm that you may share them with us for this purpose.
We process them on your behalf, as described in our privacy policy. Nothing is published before the contributor agrees.
Acceptable use
Do not use Contribase to break the law, send unwanted messages, publish false information, or reach data that is not yours.
Free plan
The free plan includes up to 50 contributors per organization. If we change what it includes, we tell you by email at least 30 days before.
Paid plans
Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. The price is the one shown on the pricing page in your currency, plus applicable taxes (such as GST, QST or VAT).
You pay in advance each month by card, through our payment processor Stripe. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
Changes and cancellation
You can change plan or cancel at any time in Settings. A change between paid plans applies at once and is prorated on your next invoice.
A cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid. That month is not refunded, unless the law requires it. Your organization then returns to the free plan: your data is kept, but you cannot add contributors over the free limit.
If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over a few days. If it still fails, the subscription ends as if it were cancelled.
Price changes
We tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to you. You can cancel before then.
Availability
We work to keep Contribase available and secure, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Features can change as the product evolves.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that you cannot waive under consumer protection laws, such as Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
End of the contract
You can close your account at any time by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you, unless the breach is serious or illegal.
Changes to these terms
We tell you by email at least 30 days before an important change applies. If you keep using Contribase after that date, the new terms apply.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and of Canada. Disputes go to the courts of the district of Montréal, unless the law gives you the right to another court.
Payment is being set up.
